PARENTS
As a parent, you play a vital role in supporting your student’s educational aspirations. The Spring Grove Area Scholarship Fund (SGASF) is here to assist your family by providing financial support to help your student achieve their goals, whether they're heading to college, university, or a trade school.

Why Encourage Your Student to Apply?
SGASF has awarded over $2.4 million in scholarships to Spring Grove graduates since 1994, and your student could be next. Scholarships can reduce the financial stress of post-secondary education, allowing your student to focus on their academic and personal growth.
How the Process Works
-
Eligibility: Students must reside in the Spring Grove Area School District and be enrolled in district-funded educational programs. Applications open in January of their senior year.
-
Comprehensive Review: Applications are evaluated anonymously by an independent review board to ensure fairness. Awards are based on a variety of factors, including academic achievement, athletic performance, community involvement, work history, financial need, and scholarship-specific criteria.
-
Opportunities for All Paths: Scholarships are available for students pursuing traditional higher education as well as trade schools, ensuring diverse opportunities for success.
How You Can Help Your Student
-
Encourage Early Preparation: Help your student gather the required documents and start brainstorming ideas for their personal essay.
-
Stay Informed: Familiarize yourself with the timeline for applications and key deadlines to ensure your student submits their application on time.
-
Highlight Community Involvement: Discuss ways your student’s extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and part-time jobs have shaped their character and goals.
-
Talk About Financial Needs: Help your student articulate how financial assistance will make a difference in their educational journey.

-
Spread the Word: Share SGASF opportunities with other parents and community members.
